The surprisingly well camouflaged Indian Pond Herons at The City Park, Bokaro Steel City.
Dazzling white when flying, dirty brownish when stationary. I was really taken aback at the effectiveness of their camouflage given the deceiving contrast in the colours of their wings and that of their habitat. Took me a while to realise that their sudden appearance when I got closer to the branches was not just me being inattentive.
Tip ‘o the hat to Rashmi for identifying the bird.

That is lovely shade of green!! Is there a bird in the second photo or is that a funnily shaped leaf? *eyestrain*

Right? I shot these with Auto White Balance turned off after a very long time. So delighted with the results that I’m tempted to risk manual white balance modes once again.

The evolution of Nature shall never to cease to amaze. That, I suppose is the nature of evolution.
That is a soothing green backdrop. Especially attracted to the variety of leaf structures in the bottom one.
